It is a great platform for our latest generation of Macintosh-compatible software. This past year has been an exciting one for customers that rely on Adobe and Apple products. The all-new Adobe Creative Suite 2 and Mac OS X v.10.4 (Tiger) make this a great time to be an Adobe customer on the Mac platform. Adobe and Apple have worked closely together through the development of Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and Adobe Creative Suite 2 to ensure that our software is fully compatible with Tiger. After rigorous testing by Adobe engineers, Adobe Creative Suite 2, as well as its individual components (Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Illustrator CS2, Adobe InDesign CS2, Adobe GoLive CS2, and Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional), are now certified as compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). For detailed information on Mac OS X Tiger and Adobe products, please see the links below for support information and updates.

Excel for Mac 2011 uses the same date system as Excel on Windows, the 1900 date system, which bases dates on the number of days since January 1, 1900. Older versions on Mac, however, use the 1904 date system, causing potential problems if you started a workbook on Excel for Mac 2008 or earlier.

Announcement for those of you using Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and 10.7 (Lion): Acrobat and Reader will be ending support for these operating systems after the next quarterly update, expected in May 2015. If you have an Acrobat question, ask questions and get help from the community. I just installed (or rather, updated to) Adobe Reader 10.1.7 on my MacAir (with Mac OS X version 10.7.5).
But how do I do this on my Mac? Again, regarding the plug-in on my Mac, how/where would I check on the Adobe website whether my Reader version is the current one? (I remember going to Adobe website when they had a button to click to check if I have current version, but I don't see this feature now--at least not on my Mac mini.) Actually, I am now in the (rather long) process of downloading 'Adobe Reader 11.0.11 update' (File Name AdbeRdrUpd11011.dmg) from Thank you very much for any info/suggestions. I have read the posts above, but I still have 2 questions. These questions are regarding Mac OS X version 10.7.5 (I also got the prompt to update my Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape version 11.0.11.
If you decide to download it you should still stick to using Preview to open PDF files and only use Adobe Reader in the few cases that Adobe Reader is absolutely required. Preview is not vulnerable to the same exploits as Adobe Reader because it does not have all the capabilities as Adobe Reader.
It is also unfortunate that checking for updates from AR application on my Mac does not indicate that this update is available, together with providing the link to the updated version. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Students and teachers can purchase a continual license for the discounted price of $119. If you do not regularly edit PDFs and just need a way to view them, then the free Adobe Reader will meet your needs. Bottom Line Adobe Acrobat Pro is a professional application that is easy to navigate and highly useful for people who need to create and edit PDFs. Although it is a bit expensive for personal use, the price is worth it if you plan to use it on a regular basis.
